See all artworksNatalija Stamenković is a visual artist based in Belgrade and the author of Planet 22, a long-term artistic project she develops through painting and, gradually, through objects and spatial installations. Within it, everyday scenes and inner experiences are transformed into the landscapes and symbols of an invented geography.
Her paintings are not conceived as individual stories, but as fragments of a larger world that reveals itself gradually. Starting from painting as her primary medium, she develops a recognizable visual language based on atmosphere, symbolism, color, and the relationships between space and figure.
Color plays a central role in her work. Through strong color relationships, simplified forms, and pronounced texture she builds paintings that invite the viewer to explore the space between the familiar and the imaginary.
Planet 22 is not conceived as a closed cycle, but as a world that evolves across different media and gradually grows from a painterly into a spatial experience.
She was born in 1999 in Sokobanja, Serbia. She completed her undergraduate and master's studies in painting at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, where she was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia and a recipient of the Dositej Scholarship. She has held five solo exhibitions in Serbia and the region, and taken part in more than forty group exhibitions at home and abroad. She has received multiple awards and acknowledgments, including the award for the best overall artistic results in master's studies at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, the award for the best drawing in undergraduate academic studies, and a commendation for sculpture at the DivArt International Spring Salon in Belgrade. Her works are held in private collections.
Alongside her own artistic practice, she is actively involved in organizing cultural programs, developing artistic projects, curatorial initiatives, and educational activities. She is a member of the organizing team of the Youth Biennial, and through writing, collaboration, and project organization she contributes to the development of the contemporary art scene and the creation of new spaces for dialogue and the exchange of ideas.
